Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, also known as the City of a Hundred Spires. Prague was a christian country founded in the 9th century. Communism ended in 1989 and they joined NATO in 1999 and the UN in 2004.
Prague is city of history and beauty, filled with a variety of historical locations to visit and explore.
Visit the Prague Castle built in 970 AD. It is one of the largest castles in the world and could take a while to get through but will be worth it. The castle holds within its walls the Powder Tower, the Old Royal Palace, the Golden Lane, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Garden and St. George's Basilica.
Charles Bridge was built in the 1300s and finished in the 15th century. Originally it was called the Stone Bridge or Prague Bridge but in 1870 began to be known as Charles Bridge. The bridge links the Old Town with the New Town. Take a walk along the bridge over the Vltava River and enjoy artists, entertainers, and food along the way.
In 1410 the astronomical clock was built in Prague. It is the third oldest clock in the world and the oldest clock still functioning. It was created by Mikuláš of Kadaň and Jan Šindel. Enjoy this stunning piece of history and technology in the Old Town hall at the Old Town Square.
The Old Town Square is the historical center of the city. You will find The Tyn Church, built in the 15th century, and the Clementinum in the square. The Clementinum is a collection of buildings that is now home to the National Library of the Czech Republic.

Though even within it's beauty there is a dark side as well. Visit the Museum of Torture with 100 exhibits to see the darkness of Prague and add the wax museum for extra creepiness. Also enjoy two special effect torture with audio and visual effects; a witch being burned and an execution by sword.
Prague also has a variety ghost tours for those with a strong heart. Visit the castle after dark, a mental asylum graveyard, an underground walk by lamplight, or a ghost tour of the old town.
